About

Nicholas La Delfa, PhD

More than 15 years of experience in ergonomics and biomechanics.

Nick is an Associate Professor at Ontario Tech University, where he leads the Occupational Neuromechanics & Ergonomics Laboratory (ONE Lab) .

His academic work informs his evidence-based perspective on ergonomics and biomechanics.

He holds a PhD in Occupational Biomechanics and an MSc in Ergonomics, and completed postdoctoral training in shoulder biomechanics. Nick is the recipient of the 2026 Applied Ergonomics Conference Young Investigator Award, recognizing his contributions to ergonomics research.

Nick is a full member of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. He is currently working toward the Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE) designation.

His work spans both the development and practical application of ergonomics evidence. Through La Delfa Research & Ergonomics, he brings that research-informed perspective to workplace assessments, education, and technical consulting.

La Delfa Research & Ergonomics is Nick's independent consulting practice. Its services are provided separately from Ontario Tech University and ONE Lab and are not university or ONE Lab services.
